Centre for Communications Impact (CCI) among eight new Sub-recipients (SRs) selected to implement Global Fund grants under Beyond Zero as a Principal Recipient (PR). On 18 May 2022, CCI joined 15 other SRs (new and retained) for the SR onboarding session at Radisson Blu in Kempton Park. CCI will be implementing two programmes funded by the Global Fund through Beyond Zero: (1) The Adolescents and Young People (AYP) in Thabo Mofutsanyane district in the Free State Province. AYP operations will be coordinated from CCI’s Bethlehem and Ficksburg offices; (2) The Men Having Sex with Men (MSM) programme will be coordinated from our Rustenburg offices in Bojanala district. The Chief Executive Officer for CCI was given an opportunity to give Remarks on behalf of the new SRs. In her remarks, she said: “…, yes, we are the new brooms, and we are ready to sweep faster and cleaner than the old brooms” and thanked the CEO for Beyond Zero for giving new SRs the opportunity to be part of the Global Fund programme.
CCI will also implement a third programme on AYP in Bojanala district as a Sub-recipient to Aids Foundation South Africa (AFSA) funded by the Global Fund. Both offices for CCI in the Thabo Mofutsanyane and Bojanala districts will be expanded to accommodate the additional grants.
