In an effort to secure more vaccines, the Healthy Living Alliance is calling for a 20% increase in health promotion levy. The levy, also known as sugar tax, was introduced in April 2018 at 11%. The non-governmental organisation says this proposal would be in line with the government’s plans to fight COVID-19 as people living with comorbidities such as diabetes and hypertension are among the high-risk population.
