Tamara Braam

Tamara Braam is an experienced development consultant, with over 30 years in the field in different capacities, ranging from supporting locally based organizations and social movements, to working with senior government and political offices, development agencies, multi-lateral institutions and philanthropies around complex strategy, programming and policy initiatives at national, regional and global levels. A significant focus of her work has been on social justice issues, broadly, and specifically as it relates to the position of women and girls in society. This has included work in the field of violence against women and girls, sexual and reproductive health and rights and women’s social and economic position, broadly. She served as the GBV Technical Specialist in the Private Office of the President from 2020 – 2024. She has worked with clients across the Africa region, Europe, North America, Asia and the Global South more broadly. Her approach to work is embedded in a deep commitment to social justice issues, a profound love and sensitivity for all of humanity coupled with an unwavering focus on delivering technically sound, client-focused high quality work.
