Nonhlanhla Mokwena

Nonhlanhla Mokwena has 25 years of experience providing services to survivors of gender-based violence, including psychosocial counseling, legal advice, court preparation & support, sheltering, and services. Her experience includes training and development (board orientation and strategic planning), developing minimum standards for service provision and a model for sheltering women and children who left their abusive homes. She has 4 years’ experience in grant making for Not for Profit Organisations (NPOs).  She has worked for POWA, DSD, and NLDTF(now NLC). She is a registered social worker and has a BA in Social Work Hons from UNISA. She holds  a Master of Philosophy for Human Rights and Democratisation in Africa and a Certificate for Education from the University of Pretoria, Training and Development Practitioners from Unisa.
