Claudia Shilumani is a South African national with 25 years of working experience in the public health field – ranging from South Africa, Southern and Western African regions as well as internationally (based in Switzerland working in East Asia & Pacific). Her previous roles and functions ranged from being a Technical Expert to being a Manager and recently performing Senior and Executive Leadership roles. Ms Shilumani has worked for the Governments of South Africa and Sierra Leone; Local, Regional and International NGOs; the United Nations (ILO, UNODC and UNFPA); Catholic Relief Services; and the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis & Malaria. She has vast experience in Health Systems Strengthening, Policy Advocacy, Public Health Emergencies as well as Accountability for Impact. Claudia Shilumani is currently the Vice President for Partnerships & Impact at VillageReach – an international NGO implementing programs in multiple African countries. She joined Village Reach from Centre for Communication Impact (CCI), where she was the Chief Executive Officer for about 4 years. She transitioned from the CEO role to become a member of the CCI Board, chairing the Programs Oversight and Business Development Committee of the Board. Her personal interests are in identifying, nurturing and unleashing talent to benefit Africa’s development, particularly focusing on empowering teams to fully realize their potential.
