Organisational Background
Centre for Community Impact (CCI) is a non-profit South African organisation based in Pretoria. We aim to be a centre of excellence in strategic health and development communication programs that are centred around meaningful Community Engagement.
Position Summary
The In-School Champion will be responsible for the successful implementation of the AYP programme in schools and Safe Space. This position includes offering a Core Package, writing referrals, linking to services, and reporting Human Rights Violations.
Primary Responsibilities
- Offer Core package.
- Write referrals to internal and external service providers.
- Follow-up of referrals with linkage officers and beneficiaries
- Report Human Rights Violations
- Support In-School Supervisor and LSAs in coordinating school activities.
- Support the rollout of peer education interventions (Co-Facilitation) in the Safe Spaces
- Support the facilitation & coordination of other layered interventions targeting learners in the community and safe spaces.
- Completion of risk assessment, service plan and referral tools correctly and accurately.
- Completion of reports as required, including reports for linkages and referrals.
- Ensure operational, day-to-day smooth running of all AYP programme services across allocated schools (as per Cluster) and Safe spaces.
- Attend all relevant stakeholder and other meetings.
- Support LSA and PGT Mobilisation and programme awareness.
- Maintain good working relationships with the local community and faith leaders, project staff, and other relevant stakeholders; and
- Provide continuous support, engagement, and encouragement to AYP.
- Participate in learning and development opportunities (training, workshops, information sessions etc.).
- Stay abreast of developments in the fields of HIV/AIDS, STIs and TB.
- Attend meetings, briefings, debriefings, staff meetings and others as directed to do so on a regular basis.
- Do additional responsibilities delegated by managers from time to time.
- Do daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, and yearly plans.
- Write comprehensive Monthly and Quarterly In-School reports and Safe spaces reports.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 Certificate
- Advantageous: Post-matric qualification/ certificate in Peer Education, Child & Youth Care Work or Social Auxiliary Work
- Minimum 1-year experience in a similar role
Competencies
- Good writing skills that will enable the incumbent to compile reports.
- Good communication, listening and problem-solving skills.
- Computer literate in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Ability to work individually and as a team.
- Knowledge and understanding of human behaviour, social systems, and skills to intervene at a point where people interact with their environment to promote their well-being.
- Information and knowledge management skills
- Ability to travel as and when required.
- Good interpersonal skills
