Medical Male Circumcision

CCI (formerly trading as JHHESA) has been the lead demand creation partner for the national Medical Male Circumcision (MMC) programme. The first campaign was launched in 2010.The campaign is aimed at increasing knowledge around the benefits of MMC among sexually active men and women, encourage MMC uptake and link people to MMC services. Several campaigns have been conducted since then, drawing on quantitative and qualitative research to hone messages as knowledge of MMC benefits has increased. HIV Counselling and Testing

In June 2016 CCI launched a mass media and below the line campaign to encourage sexually active men to take responsibility for their own health through regular HIV testing and treatment intiation. The campaign supports the South African government's 90 90 90 strategy which aims to test 90% of the population, ensure that 90% of HIV postive people initiate treatment, and that 90% of these people lower their viral load through treatment adherence.to their treatment programme.
